Two trends that you need to get on immediately – barre and bowls.
Started the day off with one of my favorite workouts, SoulBody Power. It’s a 30 minute cardio intensive, tabata style workout that combines HIIT blocks with body-toning BARRE exercises.
What’s Tabata? 30 seconds of cardio intensive exercises (think burpees, jumping jacks, squat jumps, plank jacks, donkey kicks), followed by 10 seconds of rest
What’s HIIT? High-Intensity Interval Training
What’s Barre? Mindfully intensive workout pulling from the principals of Pilates, Yoga, and strength conditioning behind dance (think planks, pushups, and squats, as well as traditional ballet moves like plie, releve, and calf raises)
After a great workout, you need a great post workout breakfast. I love a good bowl and a new juice bar, Earthshake, just opened right down the street from me 2 weeks’ ago. I opted for the build-your-own Pitaya Bowl w granola. They have a bunch of options for toppings, but I went with blueberries, kiwi, and chia seeds.
Whats Pitaya? Dragon fruit. It’s a super food and a great source of antioxidants. Oh, and it has a distinct bright pink color (see below)
