Weekly Roundup [ 4 . 8 ]

Oh my gosh – I feel like I’ve been all over the place recently and was so looking forward to catching up and blogging this afternoon, but you know it’s never that easy. I had a super productive start to my Sunday. I went to the farmers market (today was opening day), Sprout’s and Ceremony coffee for a late breakfast/lunch with some friends. And then I got home and half of my power was out (UGH). When it comes to stuff like this..calm is out the window. So this immediately threw off my whole afternoon, but hey 5 hours later, 2 visits from BGE and a cherry picker..we have power. I do have to say everyone from BGE was extremely nice and helpful (with the exception of the lady on the phone who told me they could send someone out to check on my outage NEXT TUESDAY).

With that being said – below are my top 5 for this week. Better late than never!

Blender Bombs by Hushup + Hustle

If you follow me on IG you know that I make a lot of smoothies/shakes – and BBs are the perfect addition. The base includes chia seeds, almonds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, pecans, dates, bee pollen, local honey, cinnamon and vanilla bean. Just drop one of these in your shake with whatever liquid, frozen fruits/vegetables, greens and protein you like. My personal fav is an original BB with frozen strawberries and bananas, unsweetened almond silk, vanilla Vega protein powder, and unflavored collagen peptides. Unlike other energy bites, BBs are 70% nuts and seeds and about 30% dates and honey. Aka they are more calorie dense and keep you fuller longer. They are also GF (although made in a facility that includes products containing gluten).

Breeze By Muscle Tank II

I love this tank so much that I actually own it in two colors – white and dark forest. And if we’re being honest, I’ll probably buy it in black too. This relaxed fit tank has dropped armholes and open-hole ventilation so it’s perfect to wear to spin class when I know I’m going to sweat..a lot.

Sprouts recently opened a grocery store in Ellicott City, MD so I went and checked it out this weekend. Here’s my verdict – if you’ve never been, you need to go. They have a great selection of organic and gluten free groceries at great prices. Below are some of the items that I got on sale this week:

16oz fresh strawberries – $.98

1 pt grape tomatoes – $.98

Cucumbers – 3 for $1

Avocados – 2 for $1

Perfect Bars – 2 for $5

Chobani – $.99 ea

Other things that I like about Sprouts (in addition to the prices) – they have brands that I like and know. Like a lot of them, including Little Northern Bakehouse bread, Bob’s Red Mill and Hope Hummus. They also have a big selection of dairy free and vegan alternatives including Follow Your Heart dairy free cheese, Daiya and a variety of Kite Hill products (I snagged the chive cream cheese style spread). Full post coming soon.

Gundalow Juice

This Baltimore based juice company is one of the newest vendors at the Baltimore Farmer’s Market. Their cold-pressed juice is made solely with fruit and vegetables – so no added water, sugars, chemicals or caffeine. My current fav is Sailor’s Delight (tangerine, apple, organic raspberry, lemon and ginger). They also recently started selling cold-pressed beet and ginger shots.

Stasher Bags

Stasher bags are a healthy alternative to plastic storage containers. These reusable silicone bags have an airtight seal and are oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. They come in three sizes – half gallon, sandwich and snack (I have all three). I used my sandwich stasher bag to make guac today. Legit so easy. Just add cubed avocado, diced tomato, red onion, jalapeño, lemon/lime juice and salt & pepper – mash and enjoy.
