Recently I’ve been on a bit of a sports bra kick. Seriously though, gone are the days of stocking up at the Nike outlet for one-style fits all pieces. Picking a sports bra is typically my first, big decision of the day. We’re talking at like 5 AM here on most days, so take that comment with a grain of salt. Deciding factors like how much am I going to sweat, what type of workout am I doing and is my sports bra doubling as my top, help determine my go-to selection.
Below I’ve highlighted some of my recent fav purchases including where I got them, why I like them and what makes them unique.
I’m loving the ribbed fabric trend – which is what caught my eye with this simple, razorback style bra. The Pura Bra has a mid-coverage neckline and is made from 100% organic cotton. It’s low support, so a good choice for Yoga (or similar low-impact workouts). Typically retails for $44, but it’s currently on sale for under $40!
Another Athleta find. My favorite features of this mid-coverage bra are it’s strappy back and front zip pocket. It’s also low support, but made from moisture wicking fabric so it’s perfect for Hot Yoga or Yoga Sculpt. Retails for $49.
Yes, American Eagle still exists and it’s a sneaky good spot for affordable, but cute sports bras (and bralettes). This one is similar in style to the Athleta Pura Bra – both are low support and feature ribbed fabric, but unlike the Pura Bra this one has a low scoop back (as opposed to the razorback). Simple, but transitions well to function as your top in Hot Yoga. I would also wear this to barre. And the best part? It retails for under $20!
So. Freaking. Comfortable.
I found this super cute boutique in Charlotte, NC that has the best selection of modern athletic fashion. They also have an e-commerce website that is updated weekly with new arrivals. Brands include Ultracor, P.E. Nation, Michi, Olympia, ALALA, Varley, Wear It To Heart and KORAL. Definitely boujee, but if you are looking to splurge on a unique workout piece – Fit Atelier is your spot.
This hybrid crop/sports bra has a breathable back panel and is perfect for low-impact workouts like barre or pilates. Retails for $65.
This high neck bra is a total splurge, but completely worth it. My favorite features? The cut out detail on front and back and the black and white zig zag print trim. Retails for $88.
